Ruff Bottoms saturday

Got there about 9:30. A little wavy. Got out in front of PI, the shorts were biting. Later it got very calm, but the bite slowed way down. Saw a couple of huge schools of short trout around the bars. Started blowing from the south around 1:00.
Picked up one keeper. My buddies in another boat picked up 4. I lost a couple near the boat. Seemed they were biting the tail a lot. Lots of bites, just no hookups. Mostly they were biting the jerk shad on a jig head.
Got real ruff and came in about 3:00, Talked to another boat at the landing, same with them, although they had picked up 2 reds with the one trout. He said friday he slew them between bands moving through.
Finished off the trip with a grilled platter from the Coastal.
