Sunday's Mash Attack

Went out of the Mashes Ramp Sunday morning and got to the water about 9:50 or about low tide. Once the water was moving around we started catching fish. All in all we ended up with 15 trout up to 3.5 lbs and all slot fish. All fished released to fight another day. I caught several fish that had black marks on their bodies. I figured it was from being handled on another catch. On some fish the marks were so dark you could just about see the hand prints. I guess that’s a note to self that we should handle the fish we plan to release gently. This was the average, note the black spot.

Here’s another standard for the day.

Believe it or not it was windy most of the time. Then all of the sudden it was dead clam like this.

After that, followed the storm and then the lighting in the distance so we called it a day. Off the water at 12:20.

I use a stupid looking glove to handle fish, but I preach that it helps in healthy release. Damn good point.
