GPS blueline?

When we were out yesterday the GPS72 would work fine for a few minutes, then I'd look back at it and it had blue-lined.
The vertical line that kept appearing runs from top to bottom of the screen in the same horizontal aspect. I would restart it and it would be OK for 5-10 minutes and then crap out again. (this is why we only caught two dinks all morning).
Anyone have experience with a failing LCD? Thanks
oh, and the UP on the T/T doesn't work now either...

Sounds like a trip to Garmin for the GPS. Call Garmin customer support, they'll fix ya up.
As for the T/T. switch the relays around. If it then goes up, but not down, it's time to replace the relay.

If you have it hardwired for power, a power interruption could cause that as well. My fishfinder occasionally does the same thing. If it happens on batteries, then what TinCan said.

My 76 does that when the batteries are low.

That's what I say. Check batteries or connections. My 76 does it also!

OK, TC's in hiding. Anyone know where the T/T relays are on a '94 C85 Yamaha?
Thanks!

Not hiding, Rodbow. I'd have to see the motor to be sure.

Finally contacted Garmin regarding my blue line problem on the GPS72 (Christmas money went to other things). They said they have a fix for this specific problem via download updating the software or firmware... Problem now is I don't have a PC interface cable.
Anyone have one I can borrow? Probably most any cable would work.
Here are the specs:
Thanks!

If you want to use it before you get a cable you can go into the menu and disable WAAS, and it will work.

From what I can see of the motor, you need to look on the other side

I see the rectifier assembly, CDI and a terminal block, but nothing to do with the T&T

The relays are "USUALLY" toward the front and on the other side "some have a cover over them"
