Set our trap out of the Econfina Saturday morning, baited it with some left over frozen cigar minnows my son had left in our frezzer. We checked them Sunday and it had between 50 - 6o small pinfish. This is the way to go.

Fished Saturday toward the Aucilla, with my wife and our friend Katie,
we caught 10 keeper trout, 17- 21", 2 rock bass and a large blue fish.
Caught them all on b/a grubs tipped with fish bites under cajun thunder.
Floating grass kept us from trying topwater and kept my pin fish tangled up most of the time.

It's been 2 or 3 wks since I went out of the Econ, and the water was still stained pretty heavily at that time. Has the water cleared up much?

the water is still dark, lots of floating grass, i guess from the shrimp boats but really dont know where its coming from

It never occurred to me about the shrimp boats being responsible for the grass I guess that could be a source. It seems from reading the various posts from different locations that everyone is finding a lot of grass. I just assumed it was some natural based on time of year and some due to the rough winds and waves over the past 3 or 4 weeks.

Don't know for sure, but I've been told since I was a kid, that most of the floating grass is from the shrimp boats. I'm sure some could be weather. All I know is that it is now about as bad as I've seen. Can't be healthy for the grass beds that are already shrinking. There are places I fished as a kid with lots of grass beds that are now nothing but mud flats.

I don't know, but the grass seems to be to widespread to be just the shimp boats causing it
