Im thinking about buying one? It is a 2004 with a 25 Yamaha 4-Stroke tiller on it. I assume that should be enough motor for it but I noticed on the CS webesite it says the max is a 40HP. I appreciate any input you guys have.

I have one with a 4 stroke 30 and its just the right power for two people... At times I wish I had a 40.

Now we have the center console and like to take a lot of stuff.
If its a tiller steer without live wells it will probably be fine.
What is the rigging and what do they want for it?

It has a bow mount motor guide trolling motor, bimini top, Hummingbrid depth finder/GPS. No live wells just the bow casting deck and bench in the back. They are asking $4700.
DO you think the 25HP will be enough?

The price sound fair...
I'm a big guy and when two of us are in the boat it take a little while to get on plane.
Me and my little wife- no problems.
Three people - forgetaoutit....
all depends on who is riding with you.
I do have to say I love my little boat. Goes skinny, feels safe and is cheep to run.
I just always have bigger boat fever....

I've had mine about 5 years when I first got it I had a Evn 25 hp it did just fine. Top speed with two people and gear with the 25hp was about 23 to 25 mph (GPS) if the water was right. I now have a Merc 40 hp. My top speed now with two people and gear is about 30 to 33 (GPS) with the right water. The biggest difference I notice between the two is with the 40 the boat handles and feels much better than it did with the 25 and it plans faster and has quicker hole shot with the 40. But I would not worry about the 25 it will be nice and with the water around here less than smooth 90% of the time you'll be fine.

Redphisher... Have your boats had 2 strokes or 4 strokes?
4 strokes seem to have worse hole shots than 2 strokes on the skiffs...

I appreciate your input guys! I think Im going to get it. Im not to concerned about speed and the 25 should fit my needs. Ill just make sure any passengers are young women wearing little and weighing little.

Put a Stingray jr. on it and it will hop on plane and stay on plane with weight.
