I trout fish with two Falcon 7'6" coastal rods,Gulf model with 4000 Stradics and 8 lb Suffix or Triple fish line.. Kinda like the triplefish better on spinning outfits..I usually change line after a couple trips....

Challanger Rods paired with Penn 360 Slammer reels. Suffix Performance Braid and Seagar Fluro shock leaders.
But then again with the amount of fish I catch I may need to try something else.

Shimano Crucial rods, Stradic spinners, Ande Tournament, back country or pink 8lb test , 10-20lb flouro leader. I use just enough leader so I can have the higher test leader in the tip top when casting. holds up longer than the 8lb on hard/multiple cast.

Orvis T3 8wt; Orvis Battenkill Big game #4; Orvis Bonefish WL wf8.
TFO Pro series 8wt; Ross CLA #4; SA redfish wf9.
These are my primary rods for saltwater fishing on the flats. I generally use the Orvis setup a little more than the TFO/Ross rig but I really cannot articulate a good reason other than the fact that it was more expensive and I feel some obligation toward putting it through the paces.

I got a Walmart special Daiwa baitcaster combo, 2 West Marine specials Diawa spinning combos, and a Shimano Crestfire on a Berkley rod with 10lb Berkely Big Game with 30-50 lb mono leader.
For busting Cobia or larger game, I go with my Abu Garcia on a hand-me-down Star-somethingoranother 8 foot rod with 20 lb test and same leader.
El Cheapo!
Edit: Whoops! I didn't notice this was in the "Flyfishing" section. Seems like a fun, good way to fish but that is way too blue for my blood.

I use, and I am sure you will want to try this, either a Zebco or a Firebird reel with whatever line it come already spooled with and whatever rod it comes with. My favorite one is the pink and purple combination but I have used the red and blue combinations with success. Great thing is....they are cheap...so I can get more when I break them! If those are not producing I get out my Fogo Ready to Fish Rocket Rod which also helps with casting! HEHEHE

Sorry didn't even look to see that this was posted in the fly fishing section when I posted earlier
TiCrX 6 and 8wt. Reels are a TFO 375 and a Terry Hayden #1 both large arbor. I've have SA redfish taper and Jim Teeny /Bruce Chard redfish/bonefish taper. I much prefer the Teeny line.. just seems to cast better for me and turns over the meat hooks I like to sling.
