OK, got the new hardtop and replaced the curtins should make for a dryer enviorment at the helm. Now I need to replace the stereo system. I want AM/FM/CD and my speakers are still good. The unit I am replacing for the second time is a Clarion and I have been told to stay away from Jensen because of quality and they are in chapter 11. Any forum members got a preference/experience as far as brand/model.

I would just go with whatever cost the least and does what you want! None of them will last a real long time in the saltwater inviroment :(

Wevans, that's the direction I'm leaning. Had a salesman up here in Atlanta try to sell me a "waterproof" unit for $350. It might be waterproof on Lake Lanier but, I don't think he understands about saltwater and the pounding these units get on the gulf  Thanks for the input.

What you need to do is go to Best Buy, and get a regular car stereo and buy the PSP or Performance Service Plan. Basically an Extended Waranty. Use it until it gives up, then take it back and get a new one. All car stereo's are what they call "DEVO", which means they won't even try to fix them, they'll just give you a new one. If they don't have the exact model the'll give you a new one.
