Saturday morning scallop trip

Took my wife and a couple buddies to St. Marks this morning to get a few scallops. First things first, we ran over to the bird rack to look for cobia. No takers, but oh well, we had bigger fish to fry. Went over to the scallop fields around 10am for some lazy fun. Lots of folks out, but the weather was great and the scallops were plenty. We stayed shallow today, but I'm curious to see how they are in deeper water.

My buddy Warren had about a bit of bad luck. He's not much of a sailor and he proved it today.

Two simple scallop rules:
1. Don't talk on the cell phone while tossing in the anchor. :smt009
2. Make sure to take your wallet out of your front pocket before jumping in the water. :(

My wife said she had a great time today. Here she is showing off her new starfish pal.

We all had a blast. Can't wait to do it again.

I came across 3 Cobes there earlier, tough luck on the personals. Love getting them scallops with a few brews, makes for a fun day in the boat!

We found a "plethera" of scallops in 7ft. this week. As many as you wanted to pick up just east of "The Rock." Found 35 in 1 spot about 12 ft. in diameter and left the rest :o

Glad you and the wife had a good time.

Cell phones do not like water. :smt009
