Woke up early and made the trek West to some of Jumptrout's holes...we get to spot #1 to find one boat already in the area and two familiar silhouettes standing on the front of the boat casting...it's OneKeeper and NeverTooLate. We start fishing, both throwing topwater plugs and we both get hits immediately. My buddy is a topwater rookie and gets a little too excited with each hit and misses the first several. We catch trout, ladyfish, blues, etc. and put a few in the box. I see OneKeeper pull what looks like a good one into the boat and yell, "Save those fish for next weekend!" He replies, "You don't want this one next weekend..." Apparently it was small.

We continue fishing and I get a nice hit and land this guy.

My buddy finally gets the hang of the topwater plug around 9 a.m. and brings a keeper in...

We fish a few new areas in search of the Jumptrout51 redfish hole and find a few on some sand...

We stopped fishing around lunch-time and take it back to the house.

Met a buddy at the house at 5 a.m. this morning and made the trek to "local waters"...we fished a few new areas and caught some decent trout and some trophy ladyfish. We both missed a few good trout, but didn't find any redfish which was the goal du jour. We had a great time, but the reds just weren't cooperating. We threw topwater until the storms chased us off at 11 a.m. Ended the day with five keeper trout in the box to 19" and we fished in less than 3' all day. None were worthy of photo-ops which was good since the camera was accidentally left in the truck. Water temp was 82* to 85*F.

Yep! Casey it was a very slow day for us, we ended the day with 3 keeper trout to 19 inches and 1 red @ 23 inches. I think the holiday boat traffic had a lot to do with the fish not wanting to bite. I know the fish were there with all the bait in the area, I guess that's why they call it fishing

I'm surprised you caught anything on JT51 holes. Try Junior Dices fishing holes. Sounds like fun Casey.

Casey and One Keeper, you guys need to go right back to those same spots Saturday. I'm sure the trout will be back, and waiting for you. :-D
