First big red on fly, St. Joe
It finally came together on Sunday. I eased around with the trolling motor from 1 to 5 pm searching potholes and all I saw was one redfish, a sheepshead, a couple of lockjaw trout and about 500 catfish. Finally around 515 I spotted some fins sticking up in about 3 feet of water which were unusual, I have seen jacks do similar stuff, but I am not positive. Eased over towards them and they disappeared. Immediately to my left a couple baitfish started fleeing and a swirl behind them. Somehow I managed a good long cast right to him. He immediately came to the top and ate. In what seemed like an hour I landed him, took a picture, sent him on his way, and got out of the heat. He went 27 1/2 and could've eaten the only other redfish I have caught on fly. I still have this dumb grin on my face.

Actually listening to what other people say is worth the effort.
