THE TWO OLD MEN OF THE SEA DECIDED TO TRY LAKE MUNSON FOR A CHANGE, WE LAUNCHED AT 6:30 THIS MORNIN AND FISHED THE CYPRRESS TREES ALL THE WAY AROUND THE S.E. SHORE LINE WITH OUT A SINGLE STRAKE. I TOLD CARL , LETS GO ON DOWN TO THE COAST. WE LOADED THE BOAT AND HEADED TO ST. MARKS. WHEN WE FIRST GOT THERE THERE WAS A HUGE THUNDERSTORM OVER AROUND PANACEA AREA, WE DECIDE TO GO AHEAD AND TAKE A CHANCE AND LAUNCHED THE BOAT AT THE LIGHTHOUSE. WE WENT OUT IN FRONT OF THE LIGHTHOUSE AND FISHED FROM THERE OVER ABOUT 1/2 WAY BETWEEN THE BIRDS ROOST AND # 1 STAKE. WE MANAGED TO CATCH 4 TROUT, 1 BLUE, 9-10 LADIES AND THAT WAS IT. WE HAD 1 KEEPER TROUT TO TAKE HOME. LOOKS LIKE CARL AND I ARE GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE A TRIP TO LOUISANNA IN ORDER TO CATCH SOME TROUT.    :smt006 :smt006 :smt006 :smt006 :smt011 :smt011 :smt011 :smt012 :smt012 :smt012 :smt012

I am not surprised, lake Munson is tough. Every time we fish the banks/trees we come up empty handed or maybe catch one or two. Believe it or not we do best trolling small Rapala jerk baits towards the middle of the lake; The kind that look like little crank baits. Them "Bitsy minos" work well also. I catch and release out there, still don't trust it. That thing used to be naaasssty!

Key word "Good Guide". Not someone who is in infinite place in tournaments.

If you get on the backside of the lake where I believe all the run off dumps in it looks like a landfill. Caught some nice 3 eyed bass out of that area though. Taste like chicken. :lick:

You better enjoy basking in those first place rays for the rest of next week, as your time will be short lived..... and I'm not talking about age. You just better pray that Ashley doesn't come down with a cold. :smt005 :smt005

munson is alright. you have to fish out in the middle this time of year. catch some 4's out of there everyonce in a while. florida game and fish magazine says its one of the top lakes in the state to catch 4/5 lbs. with consistancy. u didnt hear that from me though. im very soon limited to only that lake..... so maybe i shouldnt be sharing.... its nasty STAY AWAY!!!! lol.

Hey, Pa,.
I was fishing off the Mashes sands pier while you were at St. Marks. I saw the clouds you talked about, we got rained on for a few minutes but not bad. I shoulda been on your boat, at least you caught some fish. All I caught was a small spadefish. The current up on that thing is brutal when the tide changes, can't keep the bait down without lots of heavy weight. Glad yall got a few.
