Anyone have any opinion of this place up the river from the bridge in Panacea?

Nothing fried on menu! Grilled grouper sandwich is very good as are the nude oysters. Beer nice and cold and view quite pleasant and live music on deck is a nice touch.

I am with you JT. Fun place though, but a limited menu last time i went. Still worth the visit for the cold beer and nice view of the bay.

Angelo's is at the bridge. Hookwreck's is in Panacea at the marina......2 different spots, both good places to eat.

Posey's is OK if you get steamed food or raw bar, however I cannot recommend any of their other entrees......If you want fried or grilled, go to the other 2.....

Now, if you want GOOD seafood, GOOD service and a GOOD price, go to the Coastal Seafood restaurant in Panacea. It is just past the IGA on the left heading south.

I ran into RB at Hookwreck's last night.... it was crowded as usual for the weekend and the guy playing guitar was great.

RB- how did you like it?

The Shrimp Tortuga wasn't for me, so I'll hold out my opinion till next time.
Great ambience though! And the people you meet there - top notch.

Let me make some recommendations...
Blackened Shrimp or Grouper Poboy :lick:
Harbor Nachos :lick:
Oysters in the winter :lick:
Grouper HookWreck :lick:
Twice Baked Potato :lick:

They really should be a sponsor... I'm going to ask next time I'm there

Hook Wreck's is a good place to relax after a long days work down there. It sure beats Tallahassee's only "waterfront restaurant" as far as scenery goes. I think a few things on the menu are a bit high for what you get, but all in all, it's a good place in my opinion for oysters or a Po Boy sandwich. I'll go to Steven's in Panacea for mullet or fried chicken
