I spied this on sefly.com a few months back...The original fly is called a greentail shrimp fly...I usually tie it in tan with orange, but decided to change it up a little today. Been away from the vise for a few months, decided to spin a few for a nice birthday present...like riding a bike, the vise was glad to see me.

Materials Used
Hook: Mustad 34007 size 1 or 2 or 4 .
Thread: Flat waxed nylon - color depends on craft fur
Tail: Craft fur stripped with a marker
Body: Medium Chenille (using larger chenille will not work well, the dubbing loop hides the larger chenille by wrapping it down)
Wing: Palmered Craft fur in a dubbing loop
Head: X small to small eyes
Weed Guard: 30-pound mono

Tying:
Tie in craft fur tail somewhere between the hook barb and point
Take a marker and bar the tail
Tie in dubbing loop on top of tail and hook shank
Pull dubbing loop away from the hook and secure it on the vise (I usually hang it on the vise)
Tie in medium chenille in front of the dubbing loop
Wrap thread forward and tie in dumbbell eyes
Wrap thread back behind the eye
Palmer chenille forward and tie off behind the eyes
Cut some craft fur and insert it into the dubbing loop and spread it out and twist
Palmer the dubbing loop through the chenille to the back of the eyes and tie off
Take a small comb and comb the hair back
Tie in the weed guard if you want one
Whip finish and apply head cement.

This one was tied with EP fibers - if you like buggy this is buggy...probably looks more like a pinfish than a skrimp
