Spinning Reel for the Flats -- Any Recommendations?

Looking ahead to Christmas, and what the beloved might want to get me, I'm thinking of replacing the spinning reel on my flats rod -- it's just not as smooth as it used to be.

Any recommendations?

Its on my Christmas list every year, but some of the less expensive models will do the trick. I have a Pflueger reel that I enjoy as well.

Okuma Alumina or Shimano Symetre 2500 ( It's a lot less in price than the stradic )

Yup.
I use all Shimanno and carry (in my kayak) a Stradic, a Spheros, and a Symetre. All 2500's.
3 price points of a very similar reel and after 5 years of lazy maintenence
the Symetre has performed as well or better. $79 vs $140

I like the Stradic 3000 cause it holds more line than the 2500, cost the same, same sixe, and weighs the same

I've got four of the 360 and I love 'em. Also If you want something lightweight and holds a bunch of line check out the US Reels. Christy has two and she is pretty happy with them.

I use 2500 Stradic's also, was interested if others have had a problem with the handle seeming to bind up? I sent one back to Shimano, but the problem resurfaced. I removed the handle and added a drop of oil thru the nut and added a drop thru the oil port. This seemed to correct the problem for the present. Ultimate trout rig w/7 1/2 rod and 10# power pro.
