My family had the great pleasure, and thrill of following fellow NFGFC member, Greenbone, many miles, about 20 to fish a new location for us.
Left the Light house about 8:30 after a couple of problems, but all solved.

Headed out on 1 foot or less seas and beautiful skies, following Greenbones Maverick rocket, we can do 25, I think he can do 250.
About 1 mile from the agreed upon GPS setting I looked back and
steam was coming out of the water pump, instead of water, bad sign.
shut it down and used trolling motor to catch up. Got there and he had already 2 keepers in the box.

Let engine cool, hoping just the weed clogging inflow. My son quickly tied into a very nice Blue Fish.

Caught a few shorts, decided to move, engine cranked and water flowed.
Still nervous, but kept going. Weather stayed wonderful and finished the day with 3 keepers in the box, Couldn't keep up with Greenbone, 8 keeper
trout several over 20 inches.

It was a long 20 miles back but no problems, just was careful with all the
grass. After it is over, a very great day, Thanks Greenbone.

Rx,
Sorry to hear about your motor problem, hope it was just too much grass like you suspected. Sounds like you all had fun when you got to fish. We haven't been to the flats in about 3 weeks, so we are way overdue. Was the water still stained bad like it's been being?

We hung around the bird rack alittle after low tide, in 2 to 3 feet it was
clear, further east and the water looked like 5 day old coffee, we went into
about 2 feet, my skag was hitting bottom and I could not see anything.
