I finally got a yak last weekend and was thinking of going to Hickory Mound on Saturday morning. I have not spent any time on the water over there and have only driven around the impoundment a time or two last winter. Any suggestions or helpful hints that any of you may have would be greatly appreciated.

My thoughts were topwater in the canals on the outside of the impoundment, but didn't know if one point along the dikes was better than another.

Hoping to go again this weekend. The last trip was as much a trip to get comfortable in the yak as anything else. Any tips for reds and suggestions on the area, etc. would be most helpful and appreciated.
