For the last couple of years I've used Braid and Mono... Power Pro Braid and Ande Mono.
I change it out the mono every few trips.
Today I noticed the price on Ande had gone up for the 1/4 lb spools.....
Ande was $9.50 ( I remember it being about $6 a spool before)
Trilene Big Game $7.50
Stren $6.50
Cabelas Salt Striker mono" $6.00
Offshore angler $4.99
Shakespeare Omni Flex was 2.50
What would you pick?
Do I stick with Ande?
Is there another choice I should look at?

I have been using 10# Suffix Seige for the past year and it is unbelievable. Limp strong and throws a mile. I have used all sorts of line and it by far is the best line I have ever used, period.

For what its worth I have used the Berkley Trilene Big Game (Moss Green 12#) for a few years. Its nice and limp low mem. reasonable dia. and cost. My dad swears by Stren and has used it for Many many years and usually catches more fish than me

The Stren just has way to much stretch for me.
I might try the Suffix stuff next time I respool just to compare.

Line choice is personal preference. Just remember, confidence. Try several. Pick what you have the most confidence in. As far as the price, there's nothing between you and that 28" trout but that piece of string.

On my casting reels I've been using Ande Premium for quite a few years. I recently tried Ande Envy and think I like it. Some years ago I gave Yo-Zuri Hybrid a shot and really liked that except for the price and went back to the Premium. I see it's come down some since then, may give it another try.
On my spinning reels I like Trilene XL.
I don't think it's necessary to change monofilament nearly as often as I used to. Which was about as often as it sounds like you're changing yours now.
