My boss man went by and visited with him several years ago. He loves to build furniture and wood working in general. He said Robb White was an interesting individual. Thomasville lost a real craftsman when he died in 2006.

i work for part of his faimly. they r all intersting folks. one of his uncles has a book about growing up on susina, it has some great little storys about hunting, fishing and life in the red hills.

I went into Kevins several years back in Thomasville and there were a gaggle of folks gathered around him. He had come in to chew the fat and was signing his book. Sounded like an interesting character.

My wife's father gave her a signed copy of this book years ago. Reading it again now! He was certainly an interesting man.
Keeps me motivated while I restore the boat I have now. Hope to build a small boat next. BTW Chalk, yours is looking good. Did your plans come from Jacque/Joel? Can't find it on their website.

Nope - I had JEM watercraft draw my plans for me. I buy most all my supplies from Joel & Jaco though.

He wrote a bi-monthly column for WOODENBOAT magazine for well over twenty years. His sense of humor, love of history and devotion to craftmanship flowed from his pen in each issue. He died a few years back on one of the islands of the forgotten coast. He was a true one of a kind.

If you enjoy his writing you can read them in back issues of WOODENBOAT at the public library.

Is he kin to Ralph White of Blountstown? He made my White Line tunnel.
