:-D Got on the water before 7:00 and since the tide was is we went in close hoping for a red. There were mullet everywhere but got no hits. :smt012 So we headed out on the flats and started to fish for trout. We never could get on them but we caught many just short trout. Since we were going to scallop later we kept our eyes open while fishing. There were several areas covered with scallops so I marked them for later. Tried every color in the bag and finally found it, silver mullet swa(but I only had 5 in the bag). However I caught 4 trout on 5 casts with one of them. Talked to Welby and Bad Behavior, they were fishing a tournament. How did yall do? Tried to hail Breambuster but he was at Keaton and I guess I just don't have the range on the radio. Before scalloping we wound up with 4 keepers and caught a 16" grouper in 5'. The water was 80 but there was a noticable thermocline at 5'. We caught our fish from 5-7'. At 10:30 it was time to go swimming. Headed back to the spots I marked earlier(I thought, note to self when marking a spot for later put some sort of name on it.) We ended up trying to scallop two fishing spots marked back in april that I did not name. Spent an hour and only got 1.5 gallons. Moved in amongst the line of scallopers closer in and then found a good spot. We limited easily. :lick: I would have never thought you could limit on scallops at Ecofina. :o It was nice to burn a little less gas than going all the way to Keaton. And I actually caught some fish. About 20 with 3 keepers.

Good to hear that you got out and caught some fish and scallop. I was at Keaton yesterday (report to follow) but did not hear your call. My boat only has a 4' antenna giving me about 10-12 miles range to most, so its likely that you were out of my radio range.

:-D I've talked to someone at Rock Island before from Keaton so I figured it was worth a shot. Plans were changed to try Ecofina instead of Keaton. :-D
