Out the gate!

Finally, I got a boat again! Picked it up around noon yesterday and brought it home...Got started about 5 and worked till midnight getting the electronics in it...I was so tired from crawling in and out and up under console that it was all I could do to make it to the house ! seriously !
This morning I took it to Lake Blackshear to run it.. Its heavier with the motor than I expected and a whole lot wider pulling it down the highway. Whoever it was told me it ought to run in a heavy dew was wrong....it draws about 10" of water with a 400 lb motor and three batteries in the back ...It still runs shallow enough for me..
Boat performed good..It answers the wheel good when you go to turn..I ran it across the wake of a couple big boats that were out and it took em fine..Very dry ride. About one had a little wind pick up and a light chop.. ride was like driving on a dirt road, not rough but noticeable.. got to figure that on a flat bottom boat I guess..It'll be a lot more noticeable leaving the lighthouse heading east with about 15 knots of wind out of the southeast !
Motor impressed me most. Got all the power I'll ever need...I got it up to 45 by my gps and still had a lot of throttle. doubt I'll run it anywhere close to that fast very much..I idled down to see how it would pull a stretch, smooth as silk..MY old 90 with the carburetors would snort, shake, cough, hack when you tried to troll with it..It would bring you to the hill though...
Trolling motor worked good. all the power you need and the boat responds good to it..Now we gonna start working on them creeks !
Now all I got to do is put it in some saltwater .....packing to nite to try to be there to fish that high tide tomorrow!!!
