Headed to shields around 7:30am, lightning did not look too promising but we headed out anyway. Steady drizzle until about noon. Headed into Stoney at low tide. Wanted to find out if the boat could make it in. Now I know why TC has that lift on his trolling motor. I couldn't get mine shallow enough, but I found the solution by placing the throw cushion under the mount and it worked well.

As for the fish, we saw quite a few reds tailing early but no takers. I forgot to check the water temp, I bet all the rain we had last week dropped it just a bit. Anyway seemed to be quite a few trout back in the shallows. We picked up a few here and there throughout the day on the new Gulp crazy legs jerk shads, the trout love em.

Ended the day with 2 keeper trout a nice size sail, and a 15" flounder. Worked hard for the slam but nada.

Still a great day on the water, boat was flawless, rain kept us cool and no bugs. Can't complain.
