Aucilla--under a full moon

Matt and I launched at the Aucilla around midnight Friday night. The moon was full and the winds were low. We fished several creek mouths and some open flats we knew had good, spoty bottom until about 8 am when the lingering storm finally chased us back to the hill. Threw topwaters all night, and the caught some decent fish though the bite wasn't as agressive as we had hoped. Caught a few reds all 23-24 and a few trout 19-21. Matt also found a lady and a couple kittys.
First attempt at night fishing in SW (PA inspired our efforts), and a couple lessons learned. Throw TW that you throw frequently and have faith in. You can hear them but can't see them, so trying new lures is tough. The shoreline may be closer than it appears, don't just let 'em fly towards shore
. Smile when you reach the hill and are putting it on the trailer sitting on a box of fish while ten other boats contemplate whether or not to launch as weather conditions worsen.
