When on the flats, I throw out a live pinfish under a CT or old fashioned bobber. If I don't get the predator, the pin comes back either with a clean circular bite out of it (right behing the hook of course) or a mangled almost gummed gnawing(again right behind the hook).
I am thinking blue and shark, respectively. Any thoughts?

I had the same thing happen this weekend. The pin had a circular bite gone out of it. I put the rest of it on a boat rod and tossed it backin. It didnt hit the water good and black tip shark hit wide open. I also had a 20'' AJ cut in half at the boat by a barracuda witch kept coming back for more until he got it all, that was at the O tower.

A circular bite right behind the hook/head is 99.99% a sharpnose shark bite.
A mangled, crushed, scaled pinfish is 99.99% a cobia bite.
