Comments Jefferson Co. EM advised that an EAS message was needed for evacuations. The message is as follows: "A Mandatory evacuation order has been issued for portions of Lloyd Acres in Jefferson County. Residents living in homes located South of the railroad tracks on Murmering Creek Road and West of Lloyd Creek Road North of Springfield Road should evacuate immediately and find shelter in a higher elevation. A Red Cross general Shelter is operational at the Jefferson County High School located at 50 David Road in Monticello. For further information call #211. A voluntary evacuation order is in place for Wacissa, Fanlew, Lamont and Aucilla and any additional low lying area that may potentially be overcome by water during a flash flood situation. shelters are open at Jefferson County High School located at 50 David Road Monticello and a Special Needs shelter is on place at Florida High at 3000 School House Road in Tallahassee. Do not travel in extreme weather. Remember to take essential needs with you during evacuation to include: any special dietary needs, prescription medications to last at least three days. Comments Per Bryan Lowe from FDEM an EAS message has been issued. The message is as follow: "The Wakulla Co. Sheriffs Office and the Wakulla County Office of Emergency Management is issuing a mandatory evacuation order for residents in the St. Marks River area. All residents should evacuate immediately due to the unprecedented rate of rise of the St. Marks River. Waters have already reached record levels at the river. If you live on or near the St. Marks River, please evacuate immediately. For further information call Wakulla Co. at 850-926-0800."
