I'm calling it tonight!!!! **REVISED FOR 11/4/08**

I'm calling the Republican VP candidate tonight during "Uh"bama's speech to his choir......

McCain / Palin '08

http://gov.state.ak.us/bio.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

What do you think??????

Here's why:

The perception is that "Uh"bama "cheated" Hillary out of her destiny as a woman being in the White House as a serious presidential candidate. Then he added insult to injury by not even considering her to be his VP after barely beating her among his own party. This did not sit well with alot of female Hillary voters who have said no matter what, they are not voting for "Uh"bama. The Dems are always talking "equal pay for equal work" for women. What a better example for McCain to debunk that than offering a woman to be his VP. It shows confidence and not just words. Palin is very pro-life having a disabled (down syndrome) child whom she chose to have even after the diagnosis of DS. She's also an avid fisherman, hunter and life long member of the NRA :thumbup: . This caters to the Republican pro-life base they desperately desire to be displayed in their VP. Palin is a proven governor, not a 35 year Washington politician like Biden. Remember, "Uh"bama is running on CHANGE :roll: :lol: They criticize McCain for being a 26 year politician while Biden has nearly 10 more years in Congress, but they don't pride themselves on that. Can you see Biden attacking a woman during the VP debates??? Most people know what a jerk he can be already and it's only a matter of time before he mouths off and says something stupid in the heat of the moment. Besides, with Palin on the Rep. ticket, will the Dems be courageous enough to start attacking another woman to keep her down? Also, you know the Dems have stockpiled tons of media audio of Romney's so called attacks on McCain. Romney never criticized MCain's abilities, just some of his policies which were justified. They have nothing on Palin. I think she could be a legitimate "dark horse." We'll see.......just my $.02 :thumbup:

Tom, man props to you on this call... I'm visiting my folks in South Carolina this weekend and last night my father and I were voicing the exact same discussion as you penned but with both of us thinking McCain wouldn't step that far outside the box and would likely go with Romney. As a former serviceman I sure respect McCain's service but can't say I agree 100% on all his views but do like seeing the Maverick spirit he's showing by picking Palin. Not to mention, I'm hoping that her pro Alaska drilling stance will sit well with the public. And without getting too political, I'll just say I've voted on both sides of the aisles in my 40 years (and with about a 50/50 split) but thus far I'm sure seeing McCain as the politician shooting straightest with folks... NOT completely straight but straighter... and now having admitted to voting for both parties in the past it does anger me that the democrats have given no credit to Bush for his very diverse cabinet (instead being ultra ugly calling his choices "Uncle Toms") and now showing less willingness this go round to have a woman on their ticket, so as someone with a pretty darn independent streak I say props to the Republican side for the growing willingness to embrace TRUE diversity.

HEY DOLPH, BOY YOU HIT THE NAIL RIGHT ON THE HEAD. THIS WOMAN HAS GOT CARISMA AND I THINK A VERY GOOD CHOICE FOR REP. V.P. I AM SURE THAT THIS WILL BRING THE WOMEN VOTES THAT WOULD OTHERWISE GO TO HUSEN OBAMA. SHE IS A EXCELENT SPEAKER, LOT BETTER THAN THE AFRO ON THE DEM. TICKET. I FEEL A LOT BETTER ABOUT THE REP. WINNING THIS CONTEST NOW.

I wanted to see McCain come out and introduce Palin as his VP and then follow it up with....."and she's drop dead gorgeous too!" (to quote O'Biden) :smt005

Man, what a great picture of her holding that salmon! My wife is an avid outdoorsman and she is not holding fish. How difficult do think it would be to get a fishing hall pass if your married to her?

I think it is a great pic for VP. Imagine if she where the Governor of Florida and that was a grouper, do you think we would have different regs on recreational grouper fishing? When government regulates with the arrogance of thinking "they" know what is best for the masses, we are in trouble.

Great choice by McCain. She has all of the conservative credentials and a female to boot. This want drag all of Hillary's supporters over, but I think it will drag a lot.
