Keaton Suggestions

Going to Keaton with the kids tomorrow to scallop for the day. Never been there before.
Public ramp or Marina ramp? Head north or south?
What have I heard about bacteria levels? Any advice, suggestions?

They have both, public and marina.
the public is not free anymore
I would head toward mile marker # 6 then head toward the keaton beach birdrack, they have been picking alot up in 5-6 ft. of water.
the best thing to do would be ask Mrs. Pat in the marina when you get there, with the weather changing like it is they could be in closer now.

Spent last weekend at Keaton
We found scallops, north of the channel, in front of the bird rack off Deakle Beach,
They were good size and plenty of them.
