8/30
Thursday afternoon I checked the weather at work...it looked good and I was craving some fishing, so I decided to take Friday off. Got down to Carrabelle and launched the boat about 6:30 a.m. and ran to some of Jumptrout's holes. The wind was projected out of the NW, but at about 7 a.m. shifted and blew out of the East at probably 10 mph. We fished shallow over spotty bottom in 1.5' - 4' of water all morning and both threw topwater. The water temp was 81 degrees. Lots of bait was present, but the fish weren't interested in what we were tossing. We had a few hits, but most of them were short-striking the plugs. We ended the day with probably 15 trout with two cookie cutter keeper 17" fish. We were off the water by 11:30.

The Skipster and I made the trek to Carrabelle again yesterday morning. We ran some new water and had a decent day. We fished shallow in 2-4' both throwing topwater plugs over spotty bottom. We had several nice blow-ups, but like yesterday, many of the fish were short-striking. Pops did catch a couple decent trout though on the Johnny Rattler with a custom SC paint job.

Around 10 a.m. we got into a school of reds and were able to take three reds off it before four jackasses in a Key West with bars on the front saw us with bent rods and ran full throttle to within 75 yards and started fishing.

Despite the idiots, it was still an enjoyable two days of fishing.

Yesterday my wife hooked a 25 inch red a started yelling which chummed up a boat right on top of us with his big motor. We need a DUMB ARSE PATROL especially at the ramps.

Butch and I would be 2 of those jackasses.

We were wondering who had the audacity to be on OUR fishing holes.

Now we know.
