Friday Evening 9-4
Took a trip down to the coast after work. The weather was great. The water was very high and still stained. Do you folks think that all the rain is making the high tides even larger? Didn't have to much luck cast netting any baits. Pulled up to the rocks at the end of the lighthouse canal and used the ultra light to put a few dozen pins in the live well. Proceeded over to my fishing hole on the long oyster bars and saw a lot of activity. Bait schools, sharks, loud blowups. With all the water it was a bit tough to find the oysters but after some sitting and moving we got in close to my hole and when the sun set it was like fish thanksgiving. There was activity everywhere. Ten feet from the boat there were swirls and blowups constantly. We missed a few hook sets but we put a good 22in and a fat 24in red in the boat and headed out as it was getting dark with the young moon. I hear your suppose to eat fish twice a week
; tonight will by my second evening of grilled red fish for the week. Way things are looking I may be able to keep this up through the rest of fall.
