I was thinking of getting a PTO generator for the house. Has anyone ever used one or had any experience with one? This is the one that I was thinking about, if anyone has ever used one please let me know what you like/dislike about it.

I would assume this would hook to a tractor. It would probably work well if you have a tractor.
I did see in the Specs that it takes 50 HP to drive it.

We used to use one on the farm. It was a 50KW 3 phase unit. It worked just as if you had utilities. It would also make a 4430 JD smoke pretty good when you loaded it up, so be sure you got the horses required for it....
We had to install a transfer switch, but that was not to much trouble.....never had a minutes problem with it....
Since it was a dairy, we would have a day each few months we ran totally off of it to be sure everything worked ok and to keep the spider webs out of it....
Like I have said about generators before. Just BE SURE you have isolated the lines from the utility companies lines. You can easily kill a lineman working on a downed line with the feedback....

WHEN I HAD A DAIRY WE USED A KONAN 100KW HITCHED TO THE TRACTOR, IT RAN THE COOLER BOXES, MILKING MACHINES, LIGHTS IN THE MILKING BARN, FEED ROOM, FEED MIXER, AND HAMMER MILL WITH NO PROBLEMS, JUST BE SURE TO DISCONNECT FROM UTILITY LINE BEFORE YOU FIRE HER OFF. WE ALSO RAN A LINE 400 FT. TO THE HOUSE AND RAN EVERYTHING THERE .
BE SURE TO FOLLOW ALL OF THE INSTRUCTIONS AND FOLLOW THEM TO A TEE.
