Night Fishing Tips

I went night fishing for the first time this weekend and did not have much success. I put in at Lenords Landing and fished Alligator Harbor around St. Teresa Beach. It was a beautiful night with no wind and plenty of surface activity. We threw top water plugs, gulps off the bottom, and under popping corks but found no results. As the sun came up, the action started. We caught all the trash fish possible but put nothing in the box. I have read many reports of good top water action, but I didn't find any success. I am thinking we might have better luck with maybe live/cut bait under a float, but don't know. I loved sitting under the stars and fishing all night, but sure would like to have a little more action. I am courious to learn other methods that have produced positive results.

One word of warning, I have been visited by "The Man" on my last three visits to Alligator Harbor. They have no tolarence for insufficient life vest.

Hey, from what I've read from some other guys that night fish, it's much better on a full moon night. And keep using noisy top-water plugs, they like those. If you try that again, let us know how it goes.

I have been several times, and just get it in your mind to enjoy it whether or not you catch anything...

And yes, go on a full moon. It is beautiful out there. Once your eyes get adjusted, you can see everything.....

FRESHWATER FISHING AT NIGHT FROM 2 AM TILL MORNING IS ALWAY GOOD IN THE SUMMER. HAVE CAUGHT MANY BASS AND BREAM ON LAKES AND LOCAL PONDS. THIS IS WHEN THE WATER IS AT ITS COOLEST. I HAVE TRIED THE INSHORE FISHING, ON A FULL MOON WITH GOOD WATER MOVEMENT WITH NO LUCK, ON THREE DIFFERENT TRIPS. FISHED MANY POINT AND CREEK MOUTHS FROM ECO TO AUC. MOST OF THE FISHING THAT I HAVE TRIED IS IN 3' OR LESS. FOR THOSE WHO ARE HAVING LUCK ARE YOU FISHING A COUPLE OF MILES OUT (6-12' DEEP)??????

I went last full moon and no luck either. I tried everything and stayed from 12:00 - 7:00. I had one roll on the top water at daylight and guess I was too worn out to even jerk. Needless to say, I won't be going back at night for a WHILE.
