Called a week ago yesterday about a dyna king vise, which they carry, however not the model I wanted. I called and talked to the fishing dept. manager and he said he would check and see if they could get the model I wanted and call me the next day. About 5 pm the next day I hadn't heard anything so I called. The fishing manager said that he had not checked on it but would for sure do it the next day and call me back. Well 5 pm the next day still no word, so I call...the fishing manager happens to not be in that day. How can that be? He said he would call me! Surely he knew he would be off that day when he told me that.

So I ask for the store manager and explain want I wanted. He said he would be sure to bring it up to the fishing dept. manager and have him call me....well that was Thursday of last week..still no phone call.
Moral of the story: Buy what ever you can from the local guy, South Georgia Outdoors(cairo trout), Badcock(Bad Behavior ),Advantage Marine, Singletary Tire Service etc..the local guy thrives based on customer service, the box store thrives based on numbers.
OK off the soap box now.

Ended up buying a vise from the Orvis Store in San Destin. They only had one left and it was the display. The guy that helped me, Mike Mangum, gave me 20% off. Saved me nearly $30 off the regular price of the vise elsewhere.

I have had the same problems trying to get the skitter walk lures from them. They are always trying to get them or they are on the way. That has been the story since the day they opend. I will not go back in the store again.

I have found that Sportsman's Warehouse to be THE place to go for everything. They usually have exceptional service and product selection in the best in the Big Bend. I am sure that a request may drop through the cracks for for me I love it. The guys they have working in the fishing department are excellent with great knowledge.

Service has sucked for me. I'll use them in a pinch for materials. Otherwise, I'll do my shopping at Blackfly in Jax when I'm over there on business.

Wow, sure havent met that kind of service at Sportsman's. Where is Blackfly in Jax? Do they sell any other gear or only fly gear? What rods do they carry? I will still go to Sportsman's because of the selection and the seasoned fishermen who work there; but am in Jax from time to time would like to visit Blackfly.

There customer service sucked the only time i bought anything. Bought a St. Croix rod and a Shimano reel they double charged me at the register. They told me I needed to go the customer service counter for them to take care of it, I gave them my card they swiped it I signed and left. A few days later I noticed they had charged my card for the third time. I gave them a call and told them what had happened they gave me the run around it took them two weeks to clear it from my account.
