Gotta make this quick but wanted to give a report since it's been awhile...
Got out about 1:00 this afternoon. Plan was to catch a couple redfish quick and head offshore. Too windy for offshore so stayed inshore.
Never seen the water so nasty. Had to stop a couple times to clear grass from water intake so motor wouldn't overheat.
Went east, then west working oyster bars and shoreline.
1,021 casts...908 with a gold spoon, 113 with a gulp on a leadhead.
4 hookups.
1 red, good eating size for two @ 23". 1 ladyfish. 1 jack crevalle about 4". One pretty good fish that I never saw because he got away. I'm pretty sure it was a red based on how he shook his head.
All but the ladyfish on a gold spoon.
Worked hard for dinner but was happy to get it and get out for a change.
