Had a great time this weekend with a couple of my brothers a few of my cousins and a friend of the family. We fished a little Friday evening with a few shorts caught. Saturday we were on the water shortly after daylight with the wind a blowing. Goal was to catch supper and watch football. We ended up with 8 keeper trout and a couple of rock bass. Enjoyed the freshly fried fish and a Bulldog win Saturday night. Sunday morning only myself and Nat ( Family Friend ) decided to brave the weather. The topwater action was great. Only had a couple of hours before we had to load up and head home. Keep 5 nice keeper trout and one red. Caught a strong Jack Cravelle on topwater (what a fight).....had a great weekend, here are a few pictures

Nice job on the trout. How deep did you fish? I love them seabass but dont get them often. You must be fishing deeper than 6'.

Yeah, Rock Bass were in 5-6 foot and most of the trout were in 2-4 foot !

Good trip, Welby. That red looks bronze, must be all the dark water. I hope to make a trip over there soon.

I've heard that you can go out to deeper rocky bottom and catch a mess of them seabass. Is this true in Keaton area? How far do you have to go before you can consistently target them? Would love to give that a try but dont want to run out too far on my bayboat. Its only 18'.
