FISHED AROUND NEWTON. FISHED PLASTIC WORMS, CHATERBAITS, CRANKBAITS, AND TOPWATER. THE WORMS AND DEEP DIVING CRANKBAIT HAD THE BEST LUCK, SOME WERE CAUGHT ON ALL. EVERYTIME I DO THIS I REGRET GETTING THERE AT 5:30 OR 6:00 IN THE MORNING, THE FISH SEEM TO LIKE MID MORNING TO LUNCH. WE MAY HAVE CAUGHT 12-15 WITH 8 KEEPERS. THESE FISH HAVE THE ABILITY TO THROW EVEN THE BEST OF HOOK SETS EVEN MORE SO THAN THE TROUT, IT IS ABSOLUTLY CRAZY. WE HAVE EVEN SEEN THEM HOLD ONTO THE BACK HALF OF THE WORM UNTILL HE GETS TO THE BOAT.

MEET A GUY AT THE RAMP, SAID HE LIKED TO DO A LOT OF TOURNAMENT CATFISHING. HE HAD THE BIG POLES AND LIVE BREAM (HAND SIZE) TO DO HIS CATFISHEN. HE SHOWED ME SOME PICTURES FROM LAST WEEKEND 2 WAIST HIGH BRUTES.

Hey Crocker we went up from the basin yesterday pm and caught little ones, but they were biting.

How was the water depth on that part of the river? Did y'all put in at Newton?

WE DID PUT IN AT NEWTON. THE WATER LEVEL WAS JUST RIGHT, DEEP ENOUGH TO RUN THE MOTOR AND SHALLOW ENOUGH TO SEE THE ROCKS.
