Shimano Curado 200 e7

I picked up the new curado yesterday at South GA Outdoors. All I can say is WOW. The Curado has been completely redesigned. The 200 now comes in the size of the old Curado 100's. It's a very small reel with the guts of a big reel.

I loaded her up with 20# suffix braid and eased over to the bass pond yesterday evening. She casts like a dream. I picked up a couple of bass with her. The drag is silky smoooooooth.

I'll put her through her paces this weekend on some reds and report my findings. I'm betting Shimano has hit a homerun with this reel.

Also the price actually came down from last year. Seems like about $10 cheaper Retailing for $179.00.

Looked at the same reel last week at tackle store up here..Smooth as all get out and the size of a 100.. Think I might stop and pick one up this morning and put it through the paces this weekend too...Just not a fan of braided line...

Yeah, they're real nice. I tried one out last weekend and it's one sweet piece-o-machinery.

Be careful with the Revo. the wind brake is very touchy with heavy baits and mono line. i only use mine for small 1/8th ounce worm fishing

Just went and picked up a 200 E7. and some Suffix braid 20#.. gonna put it on a rod and line it up in a bit..Already like it better than the two new Cronarch's I got... Lot smoother..Course I have a couple Shimano Spheros 4000's that I like better than Stradics...

First off the Revo S has a 6 pin Centrifugal brake system just like the Curado not the wind brake system it also has 8 Apec bearings which is more corrosion resistant than the ones Shimano uses,,,, Birddog I would probably stay with the Curado and Suffix line as well,,,,,,it seems lesser Quality reels and line are working fine for you :-D not like me I need all the help I can get just thought I would try and sell you on better product :smt009

All, I love braided line but have never used it on baitcasting gear, only spinning. Guess I'm worried about back-lashing it. I bet it would be next to impossible to pick out that backlash. Has anyone had experience with backlashing braid on baitcaster?
