Took a friend and his son to Inky this morning..We were in before daylight trying to beat the minus tide and had to run the lights heading out the river..
first stop a good bar about a mile up toward Aucilla..Little activity around it...We threw topwaters all around it and a couple more..Water falling fast. I caught one trout and lost a red and that was it..Had to leave to keep from getting grounded.

We ran out to about 3' and kept with the topwaters..Water was completely calm and cloudy...not a lot of grass floating...By 12 had made it up to a bar off the Aucilla that I had good luck at couple weeks ago...Few shorts was bout it on the spook...Friend broke out his gulp sack and they started sliming up my boat with sail cats....!

Around 3 wind picked up some and the tide started pulling grass pretty good..We started back toward Enconfina and hit a couple holes I had marked..Picked up a few more keepers and a spanish.By then I had caved in and started fishing grubs too ! Wound up with either 7 or 8 keeper trout up to probably 18-181/2 inches and that was the race ~! On the trailer by 4:30 and headed back..Fine day with good friend and his son but should have caught more fish I thought with moon and tide like it was....May try it agin Sat..Too hot to deer hunt.... :o

Sounds like it was a good day. Catching fish (regardless of species) is always fun.
