A good friend and I decided to take the duck boat and try up in close for some shallow water reds. Got to the water at 10:15 and found some bars close to shore that were awsome. Second cast of the day landed a 20" trout, 4th or 5th cast landed a 22" red both on a Blood Gulp with a 1/8 jig head. We boated 4 more reds up to 24" in the next hour or so and decided to go out and try to limit on trout. Went to about 4' of water and immediatley started catching them. Caught a good bit, and then what looked like a shark took the C/T under and it was on. My buddy hooked up with a monster red that put up a HEll OF A FIGHT on 8lb tackle. 20 minutes later we put him in the boat. He measured 38" and was a stud. Took several pictures of him and sent him back in for someone else to enjoy one day. 10 minutes later he had another 24" on the same rig. We ended up with 8 Reds 20"-38" and 50-60 trout 14"-21" and back home at 4:30. Even taking the shallow duck boat and pro drive, still had to get out and push her a couple of times. Seeing a Bald Eagle, not being at work, and watching a friend catch his largest red ever ..... Just don't get much better. Jared
pics coming tomorrow.

Wow, that's great, LSOB. I just might hafta go check Icky out one day next week. That red was way bigger than any I've ever caught. And on 8 lb. line!!
