I'm taking a friend's dad out from the lighthouse in a 13' Whaler and haven't ever fished there this time of year. No fishfinder or anything, so it's a lowtech trip. Any suggestions for depth or location (don't know my way around the rocks!!!!). Should we stay in the river or creeks? Out deeper? Shrimp or artificial? I'm clueless. Thanks for any help.

Look at the tide chart and times for low and high tide. On the rising tide fish close around bars and creek mouths. On the fall move out to around 2-4' over grass. Drift and fish hard!

I talked to a friend earlier this evening, and they caught a few nice fish out of St. Marks area today. They fished east of the lighthouse in 2-3 ft. using various bass assassin jigs fished under popping corks. Depending on the tide, try around the bars with live pinfish if you can catch 'em

We did fair last week using them for reds and trout.

Good luck tomorrow. Nothings wrong with a low tech trip. My fish finder never points out rocks anyway.

Just fish and enjoy the time well spent.
