Panacea tails 11-9-08

Headed to panacea this afternoon to fish the falling tide. On the water at around 3 and even though there was activity everywhere, nothing hit until about 4. Then I put this nice spotty 20 inch red in the boat.

just a couple of casts later I hook up again on another nice red but I lose this one. A little later I start seeing reds tailing up shallow. Here's the before pic. A little fuzzy because of the distance and sun.

I ease as close as I can without spooking him and make a cast. Its a cool thing to watch a fish turn and make a beeline towards your lure. After a quick fight here's the after pic. Nice little 18 incher.

As I work on a little further I come across 2 more fish tailing together. Here's the before pic...

I make a cast and hook up again but lose him. Surprisingly the other fish doesnt leave. I make a cast at him and hook up with him.
After a good fight...

Here's the best fish of the day at about 24 inches.

All fish caught on capt mikes spoon in less than 18 inches of water.
