Our companies annual bonus trip for those who qualified this year took us to Cabo San Lucas Mexico. On our free day there, we at the Florida branch were challenged by the Texas branch to a follow up fishing tournament. the goal was most fish and biggest fish were to be awarded. We started the day at the marina at sunrise. The anticipation of seeing two days of boats go out and return with many flags flying was great.
The teams were set, the Texas branch,

This was the scene leaving the marina with hundreds of boats heading out,

After getting some live bait from the locals

The sun was rising

As we rounded Land's end as they call it,

We started to troll on rolling waves that seemed to be between 8-12ft but the forecast was for them to lay down some, and they did. The first hook up was mine, with no pics of the Dorado that I brought in as it went in the box too fast. After a couple of hours on the water trolling, the second hook up came, with the rod handed again to me.

Image

This was much larger than that of the Dorado, and I knew with confirmation of the jump that it was my first hook up on my first Marlin. This was a dream coming to reality, not ever feeling a tug on the end of the rod that had that much power. Took about 30 minutes into the fight to bring him along side the boat and into the boat.

After several Yahoo's that could be heard in Florida this was the result,

This was the greatest experience I could have ever imagined. We quickly released the fish after a couple of photos and he went back to fight another some other day. The next hook up came from Natalie as she brought in our second Dorado of the day. After only about 30 minutes we heard Fish on again, this was Jr's turn in the chair, after about 45 minutes of trying to bring him up and several jumps, he got him to the boat.

Setting out the lines again and after seeing dolphins playing in the surf, jumping high into the air and splashing back into the surf, and having the sight of a lifetime of whales surfacing and swimming near by, was just incredible, but all this was interrupted again by the sound of FISH ON!
This was Natalie's chance in the chair, and after 45 minutes of hearing the adrenaline rush coming on

this was her result,

As we only had one more hook up on the day that was a treat to watch a marlin crossing a wave to hit a lure and get off was incredible. My wife was the only one who didn't boat a fish, but all due to not having her lucky charm daughter on the boat with us. The final tally for the day was in the flags that were flying below.

Three Marlin, Two Dorados. All Marlins were released unharmed for others who visit to catch. There were no photos yet of the Texas team, but they boated Four Marlins and Two Dorados so the tournament prize pot was split. The Texas team did take photos but didn't bring the fish out of the water. This was one of the best experiences of my life, and would do it all over again. We had a blast, and have memories to talk about for the rest of our lives. If you ever get the opportunity, Don't ever pass it up. And one last thing for you married guys who may get the opportunity to go without permission of the wive's, is you can always spend time here,
