Started out at ~10:45am today at Leonard's Landing in my kayak. Quiet. Clam leasers working. One other kayaker. One motor boat. Windy & a little chilly, but not too bad once I started paddling towards the west. Actually had to shed a few layers to cool off. Crystal clear water. Caught a small Red right off the bat on gold spoon...his lucky day. Not long after, I saw 4 - 5 nice sized trout checking out my spoon. They are shiny, flashy and gorgeous underwater. Not interested. Teasing me. A few more casts later & I landed a pretty 19" trout. Great feeling having "Fish On". A Bald Eagle flew over about 30 feet above me with a fish in his talons, showing off his catch. Righty-o, mate! Buffleheads and Mergansers chilling out on the nice clear water. Paddled a good ways )lots of wind)to try to find more fish, but no luck. Any spots back up in the bay that I missed? The bottom seems pretty sandy back in there. I found a few oyster beds, but no action. Great to be on the water. Home, clean gear & boat, heat up Old Griz (Griswald) and cook Mr. Trout for dinner. My hubby & 2 year old gal loved it. Til next time...

Very nice report. I especially appreciate the aesthetics.
Some cold weather puzzle pieces that fit together really well:
afternoon, 1/4 moon, slow rise, sun, shallow, lee or south facing shoreline, dark bottom, North winds 5-10k.
