On the water @ 10:30 back on the trailer by 2:30. Could not have asked for better weather today. Very light winds and crystal clear water. Fished a flat were the cold has started killing the grass back some so there were large patches or brown grass with about 8" of water over the top. That is where the reds were.Most were laid up and required a fly to be put nearly in their mouth before they would eat. Cast to five fish and boated three. Saw some tailing reds WAY out of range and never could get to them in time and actually polled right over one while he was tailing when the wind kicked up momentarily. No big fish, the largest was 25" smallest was 22". Gold digger toad was the ticket today.

Had a cheese burger and cold beer at the Marina grill, picked up a bushel of oysters for Thanksgiving before leaving town. Good day on the water!

here ya go sundown;
Gamakatsu #4 B10s http://www.saltwaterflies.com/catalog.html#b10
tie in about 3 pink marabou feathers, about a hooks length long.
once you've made about 6 or 8 wraps pinch the feathers together and wrap thread around the base of the feathers(don't wrap the hook) this keeps the feathers kicked up off the hook and prevents it from fouling the hook when casting.
I tie in a half hitch at this point
tie in mono eyes on each side of the hook. I use 50lb. mason that i epoxy a black bead to the end.
On the last few wraps, coat the thread with a little superglue then wrap it. Whip finish and move the thread to the front of the hook to tie in the eyes. whip finish behind the eyes and move the thread to the back.
Tie in the base of a gold EP sparkle brush http://www.saltwaterflies.com/ep_sparkl ... loseup.jpg
move the thread to the back of the eyes and whip finish
palmer the ep brush being careful to comb back all the fibers as you palmer forward to the eyes.
wrap the brush in behind the eyes and trim the brush off close. Whip finish again behind the eyes and cut it off.
use a small brush or a bodkin needle to part the ep fibers down the middle on both the bottom and top of the hook. use head cement down the length of the hook to set the part. trim fibers to what ever shape you want i use an arrowhead shape.
It really is an easy tie and takes about 5 min. if you already have the materials laying out.

Not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.
