A new use for the vacuum sealer

I thought of this last night while enjoying some fine adult beverages.
If you keep carbon steel tools on the boat for "oh chit" purposes try this one out.
Take the tools you carry, spare them down with a little Reel Magic, WD 40 or PB Blaster, put them in a vacuum seal bag and seal her up.
When/if you need them just cut them out of the package and use. When you get home just clean them back up and reseal.
Now you don't have to constantly replace tools or buy expensive SS stuff to leave on the boat.

You could do the same with your flares and other items that you may need but shouldn't get wet.

I have to tell you... that is an excellent idea. Now i need a vacuum sealer. You should set up a booth at the ramp with your vacuum sealer. :D

Nah, I think I'll just market the whole system on QVC or something. How does 3 easy payments of $39.95 sound?

That is a great idea. Can't you buy the bags at Wal-Mart and use your own vacuum? Forgive me for sounding ignorant but I am new to the vacuum sealing community.

Our vacuum sealer and bags came from Wal-Mart but you can't get an autographed picture of my dog from the Wally World.

If your dog signs the picture, that would be more valuable. I'm going to research if i can just use the bags and my own Hoover Supersuck 2000.

Stainless tools aren't that expensive and a whole lot less trouble IMO. Fastenall has pretty good prices on them.
