Dog Island 7-30-03

Wellllll, I messed up and took my nephew with me :o Wind and seas had increased by the time we got there but we went on out anyhow  started trollin strech 30's at 35', at 38 foot over some excellent bottom, his pole dang near doubled over and I "like a dummy" let off the gas before he was set  he did get ta feel a big fish pull drag for just a few, then he was in the rocks :( I told him ta set the drag a little tighter next time 8) Trolled on out ta 45' with no strikes, then saw the Spanish start bustin everywhere  He trowed out his Spanish rig and I my Yozori. Nothin would touch his rig and my Yozori had all of its hooks broken on the second cast, them are some HUGE Spanish out there right now, most where about 5 to 6 miles out from Dog Island. As we couldn't get them to hit anything else and the seas had built up to 2' ta 3's, we headed in to Trout fish  First drift produced an 18" Trout, then on the second drift the $#%&*&& cell phone of his rang and we had ta go "them thangs aint allowed any more" :x It could have been better and it could have been worse still a nice afternoon on the water with good company
