I need help installing a 220 outlet in the front of my garage to run a welder. Any forum members or NFGFC members out there who are electricians??
If so, please call me at 509-3116.
Thanks - Steve Stinson

RodBow -
That's exactly the game plan I started out with this morning. Unfortunately :
1. The plug on the dryer and the welder are different.
2. With the welder in the back of the garage, even stretching the leads all the way out, I can't get out to my Jeep frame in the driveway.
3. There are too many things in the garage that may go "Boom!" to weld in there.
4. My electrical box is already pretty well stressed, so I would rather have an electrician take a look before I proceed, just for peace of mind.
Thanks - Steve

What AMP draw rating is the welder?
I could probably make you a heavy duty extension cord for your welder.

HEY STEVE, I HAVE ABOUT 100 FEET OF REGULAR SERVICE THAT THE EMC LEFT HERE WHEN I WENT TO UNDERGROUND CABLE, I TOOK A PIECE AND BOUGHT THE CONNECTORS THAT WOULD FIT THE DRYER PLUG IN, AND THE PLUG IN FROM THE WELDER. I PLUG IN AT THE DRYER UP IN THE UTILITY ROOM AND DO MY WELDING OUT ON THE GARAGE APRON. YOU ARE WELCOME TO IT IF YOU WANT. MY WELDER WORKS GREAT, ONLY PROBLEM IS I CAN NOT HOLD MY HAND STEADY AND BREAK THE ARC, HAVE TO GET MY NEIGHBOR TO DO MY WELDING NOW.
CALL ME OR E-MAIL ME EITHER ONE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. 229-377-2465, OR
