Have you had much luck measuring water temp to find fish in the winter time? It seems like rocks or mud bottom might warm faster and draw fish, but i'm not sure I could measure any difference especially with tidal flow.

I haven't noticed the water temp to effect the bite at all. They still chase lures at summer time speeds as of the last four days.

Rocks always hold heat. The sun warms them and they stay warm for several hours after dark. Rocks are generally a great place to fish especially if the rocks are exposed above water. When I used to fish bass tournaments I would tear up bass on the rip rap near dams.

That's an astute observation, and makes sense. I'm just trying to hone the art of quickly finding them in a new area as much as possible!
