Hey guys, got a 21 foot bay boat so I am somewhat limited on how shallow i can go.I usually put in at keaton and fish close as i can allthe way up to rock island but cant find the any sweet spots like some of you guys seem to. We do fine in the summer months but the winter is kicking my rear....any pointers. :smt009

My Bay Runner is 22' so I feel your pain. My experience over there, as limited as it is, is when we've had a mini heat wave 5-7 days of pleasant temps, trout should move back onto the flats a little. My opinion anyway.
There are some good bars you're probably running past that I've found produce fairly often. You just got to keep looking, spend a lot of time idling around and looking.

Thanks for the reply,we farm in tifton and run a grain facility here so I head out of tifton like a ball of fire fish like crazy and get back to the grind. Wish I had more time to fish and learn the area better. But I aint givn up I still love it!

I've heard some pretty good reports from Keaton the last few weeks, but that kinda changes each time a cold front goes through. I haven't been down in quite a while, but from what I have heard they've been picking them up in 2-3'. That's also the area I mostly fish - it'll produce, you just need to give it time. I'm also from Tifton, so if you ever need some company or want to fish with us drop me a pm. It's tough to get down in the winter, the days are too short for the drive.

shnstone, just be patient. You will have to learn by trail and error to be successful in winter fishing. I would try the Georgia coast instead. Don't even bother with Florida, there aren't any fish down there.

Time a whole lot of time... and money a whole lot of money. It's like poker ...doesn't cost much to learn. :D Stop by and swap tall tales some time.
