I don't know how many of you are on Capt. Pat McGriff's email list, but he sends me a report from down in Keaton Beach about once a month. I found his most recent one interesting. Here it is in it's entirety. Those of you who think the decisions of the NMFC are not putting the recreational fishermen out of business, please read this:

" I really wish I had report to give. However, I have been out of town and have not been, no reports were available at the marina and no one e-mailed me any either. So, I will take this time to remind folks that trout season is closed. Jerry asked me to remind his customers of the following February, Keaton Beach Marina, closure:
"Notice: Due to the fact the National Marine Fisheries Commission has seen fit to reduce the limits of grouper and close grouper during the months of February and March of '09 this establishment( KBM) will close for the entire month of February and reopen March 1, 2009."

Since trout season is closed Feb 1 - February 28th as well, Jerry figured no one will be down. Please make arrangements to contact the Marina in January, if you have boats in Storage ( on the racks etc.) which you wish to move/do any maintenance on during February. "
