Too Easy

Had some time to kill this afternoon so I pulled my hip-boots on, picked up a couple casting rods, and drove down toward Live Oak Island. Walked in the little trail that goes from the highway to the two oysterbars in Walker Creek, past the sneaker sole where my Dad and I always tell each other, "Watch the moccasin, Heh, he-eh, heh, heh."
Anyway, dead calm when I got there at about 2:30 this afternoon, the tide just starting to rise well, and the weather warm and clearing. Not really what I expected.
Worked the relatively deeper areas around the bars that I could reach from the bank. Then tried the deeper hole a little further down the creek where a fork of the creek comes in. Did nothing on a Sliding Weight Shrimp, likewise on a soft plastic jerkbait. Gave it a little over an hour thinking if I gave it more time I might get some reds coming through on the rising tide, but decided that I could also mess around in there until dark tomorrow and maybe not do anything. Drove down, very short walk, no paddling or poling involved. Too easy for me to get to. That's why I didn't catch anything.
