Carrebelle 8/9

Every once in a while everything goes just right and I don't know if it had anythig to do with it Tom but, Saturday was the first time I wore my new BigBendFishing.Net Visor. It is now my lucky visor
We left the mouth of the C'belle river at 7:15 and stopped in the bay for bait. Caught plenty of pins and grunts although they were small. Headed out of the pass and made our first stop in 70'. Immediately started catching red and black snapper with the occasional keeper gag. My son had a nice cobia on for about ten minutes but after tangling with the anchor line we had an early release. Next stop was in 95' and the red grouper bite was on. I got slamed on the first drop and couldn't turn him. My buddy dropped right back down and got hammered. As we were giving him a hard time about how much fight a 2lb sea bass puts up I looked over the side. Even still 20' down bubba looked like a big red sun rising. When he finally rolled on the surface and I sunk the gaff high fives were all around. He still had my hook and about a foot of frayed broken leader hanging out of his mouth. We didn't have a scale or a camera but, I had Buddy back at the Moorings take a guess and he said 25lbs
So that's a new boat record for the Second chance. Final count ten snapper, eight grouper, three sea bass and one lonely bonita. Good friends, good weather, and a good mess of fish not a bad way to spend a Saturday
We got some pics back at the house that I will try and post when my son's friend sends me the CD.
